- In the heat of the quartz crisis, the year 1976 brought along monumental technological changes to the world. It was the year that Steve Jobs founded Apple, Patek Philippe introduced the Nautilus, and Girard Perregaux introduced the original Casquette. Renowned as a pioneer of digital technology for creating quartz calibers, Girard Perregaux produced a small production of only 8,200 examples of the original Casquette, in variants of Makrolon, stainless steel and plated gold, from 1976 to 1978, which became a highly successful production run.
- The Casquette 2.0 is a modern reiteration of the original, a release much to the delight of the retro watch collectors. Encased in black ceramic and Grade 5 titanium, the Casquette 2.0 boasts great comfort on the wearer’s wrist. The case is scratch-resistant, hypoallergenic and offer an exceptionally low mass of 107g. Closed with a titanium deployant clasp, the ceramic bracelet is fitted with a rubber interior that improves flexibility. Beneath its simple design on the surface, the Casquette 2.0 displays time, date, chronograph, dual time, and a secret date.
- Produced in a limited edition of only 820 pieces, the present digital watch is offered in ‘like-new’ condition with its original accessories, making this a rare opportunity to acquire this fantastic Girard-Perregaux creation like none other.
